You have probably heard the "Serenity Prayer" at some point in your life.
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference."
Several years ago I stumbled upon the full version, attributed to Reinhold Niebuhr. I immediately took to it, and have used it many times throughout my life, sometimes on a daily basis. It says so much in such a short space... kind of like the Lord's Prayer.
And then when I started going to Celebrate Recovery, I noticed that they recite the full version every week.
In any case, here it is. Enjoy!

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
